Musing On Emily DiDonato

Emily DiDonato is becoming one of our favorite fashion model muses. We just love the way this shoot was accessorized and styled. Not to mention the perfectly tousled curls and natural glam makeup completed on this beauty. Statement pieces with vintage inspiration ruled. In our eyes, you can do no wrong in gold. Agree?

How To Wear A Beaded Necklace

1. Layer them for a bold statement.

 2. Pair a multi-colored beaded necklace with complimentary colors that make the necklace pop. If you wear a chunky, bold necklace, keep ears minimal or bare.

3. For necklaces that have two neutral tones, like black and white, go for a monochromatic look by pairing it with like colors.

Accessory Report: CHOKER CRAZE

(Photo: whowhatwear.com)

We can't say that the 90's was our favorite decade for style but, one good thing did come from it... CHOKERS! The trendy piece has been taking over our accessory closet for years and it has recently found its way into the closet of celebrity trend setters such as Kim Kardashian, Nicole Richie, Rihanna, and Rosie Huntington Whiteley.

People's Choice Fashion Diva's

Award season kicked off with the 40th Annual People's Choice Awards airing last night. Some of our favorites were Naya Rivera, Jessica Alba, and Malin Ackerman. While we love their looks, we hand selected jewelry pieces to style with the stars sexy, hip hugging get ups. Starting with Naya, the vintage Clyde necklace accents her neapolitan dress. Malin's cleavage bearing printed dress was paired with a glamorous vintage clutch. Jessica's accessories were all about RINGS, paired here with the Rosie Wrap ring. How did we do?

Behind The Scenes @ Our Lookbook Shoot

We loved shooting our lookbook. Female empowerment was in full swing with styling, hair and makeup, and photography all provided by a mega female team. It was so much fun to work with such an awesome team! My adorable dog even had his first go at fashion modelling.

Stay tuned for our look book to be published soon!! We can't wait to share it with you.

Plaid Obsessed

Oh plaid. My latest obsession, this plaid Burberry jacket needs to somehow find its way into my closet STAT. Grey is by far one of my favorite colors this season, and the red, well, that goes perfectly with my tan skin tone! We styled the must have piece with our Bar Fan necklace and Grey Slate vintage bag.

Muse Monday: Vintage Vibes

Throw together an acid wash shirt, vintage necklace, and black leggings (my style essential), and you can't help but feel a bit of nostalgia, if you were born before the 90's. We love how Grasie of Style Me Grasie mused classic and trendy by mixing our vintage chain necklace with current pieces. That's the way to do it!

Blogging Vintage

We love it when bloggers show us love. Here's one of our favorites, blogger babe, Grasie Mercedes of Style Me Grasie, in Rack and Sack vintage. What we love best, the 'modern vintage' vibe, is perfected in this look. We adore the trendy crop top combined with a vintage floral skirt. Way to incorporate past and current! To accessorize, our chunky gold vintage necklace does the trick.

Neon Hue That Is Here To Stay

(Bracelet: Rack and Sack)

Bright hues have been popping up everywhere, neons a must for key summer pieces. Our favorite hue?  The almost florescent shade of green worn by celebutantes like Olivia Munn, Leona Lewis, and Nikki Reed. We incorporated the it-color into our Look Book shoot by pairing it with our Beaded Beauty bracelet with a solid black top and bandage skirt.

Greetings From Boston

(Necklace: Rack and Sack)

After living in Boston for over four years, this was my very first time taking a day stroll through the Boston Commons Park (a much smaller, quaint version of Central Park). There have been rain showers just about every day, but I managed to snap a few quick photos while the sun peaked out. The skyline view is from my girlfriends place near Government Center I'm crashing at. A fun girls night out at a local sushi spot sums up my trip to Boston thus far.

Musing: Miranda Kerr

Our Monday Muse, Mirand Kerr looks fresh and gorgeous in her new Mango campaign ad. We love the youthful play on sexy/conservative and pop of color using a fiery orange blazer to contrast the black on black ensemble. While we find the minmalistic look charming, step it up a notch by adding  a piece of jewelry. We would pair this outfit with our Tamed Vixen necklace to complete the look. Adding a complimentary statement piece brings the outfit to the next level. The gold and black necklace allows the blazer to remain the highlight while tying it all in together.

Trend Report: Black and Gold

Aside from your pastels or jewel tones, black and gold has been making it's mark prominently showing up on jewelry shelves and store racks everywhere! It's a classic combination that is clearly hard to resist this season. Black on gold jewelry effortlessly flows harmoniously, making it super easy to combine the fashion accessories with anything from a bright red dress, to a cute peach crop top. Here are some of our favorite picks from our current collection, along with some gold and black looks we love.

Easy (and affordable) Ways to Update Your Wardrobe with Key Accessories

A new look doesn’t always mean an entirely new wardrobe. You can give your look an instant make over with a few key accessories. Read on to learn about 5 easy (and cost effective) ways to update your wardrobe using only jewelry and bags.

1. Carry a Cute Clutch
The great thing about smaller bags is that they are ultra-affordable, sit in the palm of your hand (while carrying your most essential items), and can completely pull together an outfit. Plus, you can invest in a few of them and alternate them out, according to your outfits. Pick up some that have a colorful print, some shine and sheen, and one that is a basic neutral to ensure it goes with everything you own!

2. Incorporate Some Color
When you wear colorful jewelry, it makes a word of difference. It showcases your ability to add contrast to your clothes in a complementary way, making them look completely new and updated. Some color combinations that you should consider (and will get you out of that “matchy-matchy” mindset) when getting dressed and accessorizing your ensemble are aqua and melon, cobalt blue and yellow, grey and mint green, and khaki and tangerine.

3. Make a Statement
Statement necklaces have been big the past few years and their popularity have only gotten bigger. These oversized, sparkling baubles add elegance easily to casual or formalwear. They make any outfit look shiny and new, and can be worn with a t-shirt to brunch or with an evening gown to a wedding.

4. Stack on Shiny Rings
Forget about boasting an armful of bracelets; that’s so last season! The new thing to stack on (the more the better!) is shiny and colorful rings. Consider them an investment because you can wear stackable rings in many different combinations and with other rings that you already own. They are easy to arrange, plus enamel or silver and gold plated pairs are much more affordable than purchasing pieces from a jeweler, but look very similar. They can be worn to the office, out to happy hour, and even around the house.

5. Go Vintage
Vintage accessories, whether they are lockets, tassel necklaces, charm bracelets, cocktail rings, or chandelier earrings look elegant, charming, and ultra-unique when worn with modern apparel. Whether you shop at flea markets, antique stores, boutiques, or online; you are sure to find something that is an authentic vintage item or a very close replica for not a lot of money. They make your day to day wear or special events attire appear chic but eclectic and completely fresh and new.
You don’t have to break the bank when it comes to creating a new look. Once you know which accessories to add to your current wardrobe and how, you will look fresh and new in no time!
